Snatchers at wetlands too: Sarus photographer robbed

Greater Noida: Three men snatched a 42-year old's SLR Camera and telephoto lens at gunpoint in the Dhanauri wetlands late evening.

According to the complaint, the victims were in a car, looking for sarus cranes when three men approached them on bike. The victim said one of the miscreants had asked them to take their picture

and on refusing they took the equipment. A camera on the car's dashboard recorded the entire accident.

Spread over an area of 101.21 hectares and divided in two water bodies, the Dhanauri wetlands in Greater Noida are home to over 211 species of resident and migratory birds.

The area is also believed to be one of the largest roosting and breeding grounds of Sarus cranes in the region.
