PILIBHIT :Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) authorities have set up two cages to trap two leopards which have been spotted in half a dozen villages on the Indo-Nepal border near Barahi range over the past one month. According to villagers, the leopards have so far killed more than a dozen livestock, including goats, heifers, and cows. The most recent killing was that of a bull at Maharajpur village in the early hours of Thursday.

Forest officials at PTR believe that the leopards have strayed from Nepal. The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is coordinating with PTR officials in their attempt to trap the leopards as well as install camera traps in the affected areas.
