Wear practical and water resistant clothing that protects against the habitat you’re working in. Patterned camouflage isn’t essential-just wear natural tones, such as green, brown, tan and khaki.

Pockets should have zips, not Velcro, which is noisy, and you should avoid materials that produce noise when rubbed.

As a general rule, natural fibres, such as cotton, linen are preferable than nylon and polyester. Clothes should be worn in layers, so that you can add or remove items easily when necessary.

If you are going to be working in very wet environments then rubber boots provide the greatest protection. Otherwise, a pair of sturdy hiking boots will keep your feet dry without causing excessive perspiration.

For safety chose footwear which grips most surfaces, reducing the risk of falling.

In very cold weather, wear a hat. Gloves too make life outdoors more bearable in winter and on cold mornings. You may need to remove them when you actually begin shooting.

You may want to finish off your outfit with a camouflage net. It will help to keep you  hidden in the field, and can be used as a scarf when cold.
