The camera comes with six Picture Styles which adjusts the contrast, color tone, etc… to better match the subject. Setting a different style changes the “look” of the picture.
Six preset picture styles are:-
Standard-The general purpose setting for sharp and vivid images. Good for most subjects. This picture style provides the optimal sharpness for printing directly without post-processing and the ability to produce beautiful prints of a wide range of subjects with no retouching. The Standard Picture Style is the basic setting that ensures uniformity of color across all digital camera models with Picture Style.
Portrait– When photographing people, lighting conditions and exposure balance will greatly affect skin color. This Picture Style makes skin tones look smooth and soft. It gives a person a healthy glow.
Landscape– In this Picture Style the blues and greens stand out more, making the sky and trees more vivid. The focus is also sharp from the foreground to the background. It also uses a higher sharpness setting to bring out fine detail in the photograph.
Neutral– Just the opposite of “Standard” Picture Style, renders images with an emphasis on ‘adjustability’, Image data is optimised for post-processing. This obtains a bland image with low saturation and contrast in order to leave rich detail of the subject.
Faithful– Another Picture Style designed for correctability, but through a unique colorimetric approach. “Faithfull” is another Picture Style for producing the colours of the subject exactly as they are. The subjects colours look the same as under a color temperature of 5200k. Ideal when you want to see the subjects true color’s and texture. This makes it appropriate for shooting reproductions and still life.
Monochrome– The image is black and white. This Picture Style shows just the objects form and light and shadow. You can also adjust the contrast with built-in color filter or apply a sepia tone.
