Once a while we all come across such rare photographs, which instantly connects us to the place, or the situation in which the photograph was taken.
These iconic images become a landmark of the location where the photograph had been shot. These photographs are so captivating and unique that they give instant recognition to the photographers, and may be regarded as their signature shots.
The photo of the Afghan Girl, by Steve McCurry, that graced the cover of the National Geographic magazine in 1985, has been seen by millions and inspired many people, became his signature shot.
Similarly the photo of a starving child & vulture byKevin Carter in 1993, was run by New York Times & resulted in world wide outrage, can also be regarded as his signature photograph. This photograph made Carter instantly famous.
Photo of elephants trunk, by Rajesh Bedi, became a trademark of his style of photographing elephants in the wild & can be regarded as his signature shot.
